POPULATIONS SERVED:       Children // Teens // Families // Adults

Dr. Valentina is certified in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) which is a gold-standard behavioral modification treatment for families with children as young as 2 years old with disruptive behavior, including tantrumming, defiance, aggression and anger mismanagement. PCIT is also used to treat disruptive behaviors in children with autism, ADHD and trauma histories. Dr. Valentina is also certified in Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT) which is a developmentally-informed, biologically-respectful approach to working with at-risk individuals with trauma and/or neglect histories.

Dr. Valentina has found that parents want to learn how to motivate their child to attend school and how to help their child academically and behaviorally in the home and school setting; while children, teens and adults want to feel understood as well as learn how to manage peer/family conflict, academic/work-related concerns and mood difficulties – without the use of psychiatric drugs.
